Mount Maunganui Summit or Track Walk 

Mauao is a historic reserve owned by Maori and managed by Tauranga City Council. The base track is 3.4 km and takes about 45 minutes to walk. It is suitable for strollers and wheelchairs but please take care. There are several tracks to the summit. The two tracks recommended for sightseers are the Oruahine and Waikorire, both have beautiful ocean and bush veiws so dont forget the camera for thoese unforgetable photos! It can also get super hot and be hard work especially on a hot summers day so a water bottle, sunscreen and a hat is reccomended. Once you've completed your walk you can head down for a bite to eat along the ocean side with a variety of cafes to choose from or grab a yummy icecream at the famous Copenhagen Cones. Bring along your togs and you can head to the beach or harbour for a swim to cool off or have a soak in the Mount Hot Pools. 

Mount Hot Pools

Waimarino Adventure Park
